To access a core PvE area, you need a specific campaign. By having access to a specific campaign, you have access to non-core skills automatically.

There, I've completely derailed any semblance of an argument you had.

I have said multiple times that this has nothing to do with Shadow Form being nerfed. If you want to talk about the topic, then do so. Feel free to express your opinion. But get it out of your heads that this is about farming or shadow form
READ MY POST, did I ever once mention the name "Shadow Form"????

No.

But I think to me and most other players, we really don't care what skills goes where, as long as they work fine

No one in the world actually cares about something as trivial and insignificant as this, and if they claim to it's only because they want to start a thread about it and increase their post count. That is why you're attempt at a "discussion" has failed.

You would have been better off posting a thread about Shadow Form or farming, things which actually should be discussed.

Last i checked this was a general game discussion section. If you dont like the topic, dont read it. Because you think something is insignificant, it doesnt make it gospel. if you wanted to have input you could have said i dont really care, the game advances in this way or something. Theres plenty of Shadow form threads as it is. I dont care about shadow form so i dont post in shadow form threads.. its not that hard to understand - if you dont want to talk about it dont.

and AK that was not aimed at you btw, i apologize if thats how it seemed.

In all fairness UW is an area accessable by all three campaigns and is not Proph specific. Whether you enter from Chantry, ToA, or Zin Ku, it's still the same UW.

The nerf however was a direct effort to quiet the whining about "teh assassinz is ruinzd teh economiez". The whining was just the "QQ flavor of the month" from the same people that ALWAYS have to whine about something. So now the QQ turns back to "ursanz is ruinzd teh economiez" until that gets nerfed and something else will become the thing to whine about.

maybe they should open a new area (one of the other avatars) that has all of the classes...and then there would be no more qq-ing....ok, those are both dreams, but I can dream if I want to.

(and OP I understand, and kinda agree..but they did say its anets game they can mess it up whatever way they wish)

The separation between core and prophecies skills came after the creation of the "core" areas, UW and FoW. In other words, those areas have always had non-core skills. Now there is a Factions skill there as well. Where is the problem?

edit: agree with Snow Bunny
Also, assassins exist in DoA, as mentioned previously.

With your logic, everything in EotN should use either Core or EotN skills. Also, those non-NF elites in Realm of Torment pretty much drive your point into the ground.

Maybe anet should have used this idea. Would spice it up some.

Change UW/FOW ememies skills based upon which campagne you entered from. That way there is variety of skills found and these area's can be not based around "core" skills. This would also open up new builds since the monsters would be drastically different. Maybe also have one entrance from EOTN somewhere that includes skills from all the games. Now that would be one hell of an update!

To really put some life into the game Anet should do a Monster skill update every 3 months changing skills, adding a secondary profession for some monsters, and removing from others, every 3 months gamers would have to adapt to an Elite area.........instead it's the same stagnant crap.

Would be a nice surprise for a change. Maybe change the loot around once in a while too? It would get people to move around instead of sticking to the same hot spots all the time.

A campaign-specific skill should only be invalid in a core area under one condition: if the skill utilizes a mechanic whose counter is specific to a particular chapter.

The skill in question is a signet that removes an enchantment. There is nothing about it that makes it counterable only by players with access to Factions skills.

Therefore, there is no problem.

This thread is idiotic.

Go back, look at my post, realize why you're completely wrong.

They have proph-only skills in core areas, and have had them there since the inception.

DISCUSS.

Yes and this is what we are tying to discuss, if you ignore all the EPIC PHAILZZ LULZ posts, you can see a good discussion on whether certain skills should be used in other campaigns and there have been a few good replies

i do kind of see your point in a way they should have just made a new monsters skill with the attributes they wanted to do what they thought needed to be done. but in any sense it is there game. they can just go home if they want too not much me as a neighbor kid could do except cry

Now if you dont see where this is going.... I will put it plain.

Campaign: Prophecies <<<< W T F
Profession: Mesmer
Attribute: Domination Magic
Type: Spell

So because of historical inconsistencies, we now have skills from other campaigns in place they should not be.

The OP makes total sense. There was never a core term until after Prophecies was released. To say [skill]Power Leak[/skill] is a not a core skill is just trying to be technical. The easiest thing to do would have been to put a monster only skill that is similar to signet of disenchantment, but not signet of disenchantment. Then nobody would have anything to say.

In which case, isn't complaining that Signet of Disenchantment is a Factions skill just being technical?
